Submission and instructions for authors

The NSB 2023 theme is “Building physics as a key player for sustainable built environment” addressing findings and challenges in building sustainable society with respect to building physics.

Theme of NSB 2023

Building physics as a key player for sustainable built environment

The conference focus has been condensed to four topics that all require a throughout understanding of the building physics.

Topics of the conference

NSB 2023 welcomes two types of conference papers: scientific papers and technical papers.

Scientific papers

Length: 6-8 pages (including list of references)

These contributions have the highest scientific quality requirements. The accepted Scientific Papers will be part of the NSB 2023 proceedings published in open access in the IOP Journal of Physics: Conference Series (Impact Factor: 0.547).

The authors of the best Scientific Papers (top grades and quality) will be invited to extend their paper into a full journal article for a special issue of The Journal of Building Physics (SAGE journal).

Deadline for paper submission: 15 January 2023 - 23:59 CEST.
Do not expect any deadline extension.

Technical papers

Length: 1-6 pages (including list of references)

These contributions do not require the same level of scientific quality as Scientific Papers. Therefore the acceptance requirements for Technical Papers are lower than for Scientific Papers. Technical Papers are shorter documents that do not necessarily have the format of a classic paper and do not necessarily apply scientific methods.

A Technical Paper can be a shorter paper, an extended abstract for a presentation at NSB, a presentation of case studies, a project introduction, a summary of project findings, the dissemination of recently published results that are worth discussing with a large audience, or other practical questions, findings or observations from researchers, practitioners and engineers that are worth disseminating.

Deadline for paper submission: 15 January 2023 - 23:59 CEST.
Do not expect any deadline extension.

The Technical Papers will not be part of the proceedings published in IOP Journal of Physics: Conference Series. Technical Papers will only be published in a non-indexed online report by Aalborg University.
