Collaborations and public sector services

Research and laboratories

The Department of the Built Environment has both national and international research collaborations, working closely with companies, organisations and public agencies within the building and construction sector.

A significant part of our research collaborations has its basis in our laboratories of international standard used for research, teaching and consultancy jobs. Here we can e.g. measure systems and phenomena in completely controlled conditions, analyse specific issues and test prototypes. We have equipment and instruments available to us for measurement in the laboratories as well as field study, and many other things. Read more about our laboratories.

Research-based public sector services

Aalborg University has a framework agreement with Bolig- og Planstyrelsen for research-based public sector services within the built environment, which is carried out by the Department of the Built Environment. See current framework agreement (rammeaftale) on our Danish site.

Aalborg University carries out research-based public sector services, which is impartial and well-qualified knowledge supporting larger societal decisions – both locally and nationally.

At the Department of the Built Environment, we work under the framework agreement with Bolig- og Planstyrelsen on research-based public sector services within the built environment. We solve problems and offer our knowledge to ministries, boards, regions and municipalities on the climate friendly agenda especially within water, environment, transportation and construction. The framework agreement (rammeaftale) and reporting on goal achievement (afrapportering) are available on our Danish site.

Education

At the Department of the Built Environment, companies and organisations can also get sparring and use their own cases in the students’ project work on e.g. areas within construction, indoor environment, water and environmental engineering, construction management, roads and traffic, physical geography and informatics. We can ensure students for traineeship in a company or organisation.

Our teachers are also a part of AAU’s tilbud til gymnasier, offering educational institutions inspiration for teaching, lesson plan, technical skill development, continuing education and aid to examination papers within the technical and physical geography subjects.
