About the Division of Civil Engineering and Construction Management

About the Division of Civil Engineering and Construction Management

The division's subject area includes both theoretical modelling and experimental characterisation of constructions, geotecnics, structures and construction and building materials.

Our focus is on assessing safety and risk at multiple levels, from material and component scale to system level. In addition, the division works with the industry's user and working practices, framework terms and value, as well as develops theory and tools for robust decision-making to ensure both durable and economically optimized as well as climate-adapted and sustainable solutions.

Affiliated laboratories

Concrete research

Concrete research

Measurement and study of basic properties of concrete constituent materials and fresh, hardening and hardened concrete.

Structural Research

Structural Research

We test new building materials and study how construction elements behave under various loads, and use the results afterwards in the design of structures. We perform measurements by fatigue tests, fracture mechanics, static and dynamic loads and more.

Geotechnical Engineering

Geotechnical Engineering

Geotechnical classification experiments, consolidation and triaxial experiments, test setup with pressure tank for offshore measurements, experiments with bucket foundations and monopiles, geological classification.
